Southwest Potpourri: A Guest Photo Setby Marty BloomenthalMr. Marty Bloomenthal is an architect who lives and works in central New Jersey. As you will see below his artistic abilities extend beyond designing buildings to shooting landscape photographs. Marty has graciously contributed this photo set to the travelogue. The photos were taken during his recent visit to the American Southwest. He says it was his first visit and that he was "very impressed". Indeed! We thank Marty for sharing these fine photos. Marty Bloomenthal is Director of Specifications for the architecture firm, The Hillier Group, of Princeton, New Jersey. He tells us his trip was something of a company bonus in recognition of being elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Location
Glen Canyon NRA/Lake Powell is located in southern Utah. The Glen Canyon Dam and southern tip of the lake is in Arizona. The area's centers of activity are the Wahweap Marina and nearby Page, Arizona. Both are adjacent to highway US 89. Flagstaff, Arizona, lies 130 miles south on US 89, where connections can be made south on I-17 to Phoenix or east/west on I-40. Heading north on US 89, you may access I-15 connecting to Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. Local Weather
